Playing on an old-Hollywood theme, Bardot Hollywood attempts to channel the town’s roaring ’20s. John Lyons has a habit of turning an ordinary space into a must-experience nightly hotspot. Together with long-time collaborator Steve Adelman and brand managers Jason Scoppa and Alexi Yulish, Lyons has again created an oasis for Hollywood tastemakers in Bardot Hollywood.

Bardot Hollywood is a tribute to the glamour of a bygone era. Best described as a classic club with a contemporary twist, Bardot Hollywood evokes the mood and feeling of Old Hollywood while catering to the intelligent music lovers of today. The club sits on the second floor of the Avalon building at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, a spot that first opened in 1927.

Bardot Hollywood offers three spaces in which to gather for events, allowing a total capacity of 350-500. The lounge features tufted banquettes against dimly lit golden ocher walls (and Violet chef Jared Simon’s dishes out the “promiscuous dining” small plate he’s made famous). An open-air courtyard has dark gray wood flooring and a rich cordovan color brushed on the walls. And the Tent Room contains textiles, replete with sconces, chandeliers and billowy ceiling tents for an intimate vibe. Events can book the spaces individually or together.

Bardot Hollywood should get your immediate attention. The atmosphere combines competing levels of hip and cozy that you would think not possible. With DJs playing music quite low enough to talk over, but persuasive enough to catch you shaking your hips in your seat and with the live bands playing on the outside patio, you’ll want to stay well after dinner -if you can get on the guest list.
